Chinese Christian Prisoner of Conscience Adopted by Congressional Human Rights Commission

On January 29, 2019, the United States Congress’ Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission adopted a prisoner of conscience of The Church of Almighty God (CAG). Her name is Mo Xiufeng. She was sentenced to 9 years for her Christian beliefs, and is being held in prison. Prisoner of conscience are persons imprisoned arbitrarily for their religion, beliefs or other reasons, even though they do not have any criminal acts identified by international human rights organizations.

The One Who Holds Sovereignty Over Everything Wins Audience Acclaim at Canadian Film Festival

On September 14, 2018, Toronto, located on the shores of Lake Ontario in North America, welcomed the 2nd Canadian International Faith & Family Film Festival (CIFF). This film festival was established particularly for films related to family and faith in order to promote more understanding and recognition of these kinds of films among the general public and showcase the most excellent films on these topics from across the globe. In this year’s film festival, 177 films were selected from 22 countries across various continents including the USA, Canada, Australia, China and Brazil.     When God comes to the earth to mingle with mankind, to live with them, it is not just for one or two days. Maybe in all this time people have more or less known God, and maybe they have gained significant insights of serving God, and are very seasoned in their belief in God. Whatever the case is, people pretty much understand God’s disposition, and the expressions of all sorts of human dispositions are really varied. The way I see it, people’s various expressions are adequate for God to use as specimens, and their mental activities are adequate for Him to reference. Maybe this is one aspect in which mankind cooperates with God, it is mankind’s unwitting cooperation with God, so that this performance directed by God is colorful and lifelike, very vivid. I am saying these things to My brothers and sisters as the general director of this play—every single one of us can speak to our thoughts and feelings after acting this out, and chat about how each of us experiences our lives within this play. We may as well have an entirely new kind of symposium to open up our hearts and talk about our performing arts, see how God guides each individual so that in the next rendition we are able to express a higher level of our art and each play out our own role to the greatest extent possible, not disappointing God. I hope that My brothers and sisters can take this seriously—no one can overlook it because playing a part well isn’t something that can be achieved in one or two days. It requires that we experience life and go deeper into our real lives over the long term, and have practical experience of various types of lives. Only then can we go up on stage. When this portion of the work is completed, God will reveal everything to you. After My work has been completed, I will present your credit in front of God to give account to Him. Isn’t that better? We can help each other achieve our own aims. Isn’t this a perfect solution for everyone? This is a difficult time that requires you to pay a price. Because I am currently the director, I hope that none of you are irritated. This is the work that I am doing. Perhaps there will be one day when I switch to a more appropriate “work unit” and I no longer make things difficult for you. I will show to you whatever you are willing to see, and I will also fulfill you in whatever you are willing to hear. Greetings, everyone! Welcome to this edition of Movie Reviews. I’d like to recommend this wonderful movie of Christian Church, Red Re-education at Home, done in a true-to-life style. Just the one word “Red” calls to mind the Communist Party’s rule. It tells the story of a typical family of Communist Party members in China. Zheng Weiguo, the father, is the minister of a municipal United Front Work Department, who is responsible for suppressing and striking against religious beliefs, but the son and daughter, Zheng Yi and Zheng Rui, are actually devout Christians. The scene of a family spiritual battle unfolds. What’s really amazing about this film is that it hones in on one particular point to illustrate the bigger picture, distilling the situation of the difficulties of Christians’ existence and faith under the regime of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) down to one family of a Communist Party official. So, how does a red family under China’s autocracy educate their children? And how the Christians rely on God to counteract the CCP’s lies and fallacies, and expose its evil essence so that they can stand witness for God? Red Re-education at Home will reveal the answers to these questions, one by one.

Many people who have faith in the Lord believe that the kingdom of heaven is in heaven. Is this really the case? The Lord's Prayer says: "Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:9-10). The Book of Revelation says, "The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ" (Revelation 11:15). "The holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, … the tabernacle of God is with men" (Revelation 21:2-3). So, is the kingdom of heaven in heaven or on earth?

　　Though many people believe in God, few understand what faith in God means, and what they must do to be after God’s heart. This is because, though people are familiar with the word “God” and phrases such as “the work of God,” they do not know God, much less do they know His work. No wonder, then, that all those who do not know God are possessed of a muddled belief. People do not take belief in God seriously because believing in God is too unfamiliar, too strange for them. In this way, they fall short of the demands of God. In other words, if people do not know God, do not know His work, then they are not fit for God’s use, much less can they fulfill the desire of God. “Belief in God” means believing that there is a God; this is the simplest concept of faith in God. What’s more, believing that there is a God is not the same as truly believing in God; rather, it is a kind of simple faith with strong religious overtones. True faith in God means experiencing the words and work of God based on a belief that God holds sovereignty over all things.
